Safeguarding Policy

Last updated: 22 February 2025

1. My Commitment

I am committed to the safety and wellbeing of all my clients. As a qualified social worker with extensive professional experience, I uphold the highest standards of safeguarding practice.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all interactions between me and my clients, including mentoring sessions, email correspondence, and any other contact made through my services.

3. Confidentiality and Its Limits

All information shared in sessions is treated as confidential. However, there are circumstances where confidentiality may need to be breached. These include situations where:

  • There is an immediate risk to your life or the life of another person.
  • There is a disclosure or concern relating to the abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult.
  • I am required to disclose information by law (e.g., terrorism, money laundering).

Where possible, I will discuss any concerns with you before taking action.

4. If You Are in Crisis

ADHD mentoring is not a crisis intervention service. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or are at risk of harm, please contact one of the following:

  • Emergency services: 999
  • Samaritans: 116 123 (24/7, free to call)
  • Crisis Text Line: Text “SHOUT” to 85258
  • NHS 111: for urgent medical advice
  • Your GP: for non-emergency mental health support

5. Professional Boundaries

I maintain clear professional boundaries at all times. Mentoring sessions are conducted in a professional, respectful, and non-judgmental manner. The mentor-client relationship is strictly professional.

6. Concerns and Complaints

If you have any safeguarding concerns, or wish to raise a complaint about my services, please get in touch at caitlin.hollywoodlai@gmail.com. All concerns will be taken seriously and responded to promptly.
