ADHD Mentoring for Adults
You have spent years trying to fit into systems designed for neurotypical brains. Maybe you have been told you are lazy, disorganised, or “not living up to your potential.” ADHD mentoring is about finally getting support that understands how your brain actually works.
Common Challenges Adults with ADHD Face
Sound familiar? These are the things my clients bring to sessions most often.
Work Feels Impossible
Missing deadlines, struggling in meetings, drowning in emails, and feeling like everyone else copes better than you. The fear of being 'found out' is exhausting.
Home Is Chaos
The washing pile, the unopened post, the kitchen that needs cleaning. You know what needs doing but starting feels physically impossible some days.
Relationships Suffer
Forgetting important dates, zoning out during conversations, struggling to follow through on promises. ADHD puts strain on even the strongest relationships.
Time Disappears
You look at the clock and somehow three hours have vanished. You are always late, always rushing, always feeling like time works differently for you. Because it does.
Late Diagnosis Confusion
Getting diagnosed as an adult can bring relief but also grief. You start reframing your entire life through an ADHD lens, and that process can be overwhelming.
Burnout on Repeat
The cycle of overcommitting, pushing through, crashing, and recovering only to do it all again. ADHD burnout is real, and it is different from regular burnout.
How Mentoring Helps Adults with ADHD
Here is what makes ADHD mentoring different from reading another self-help book or watching another TikTok about productivity hacks. You get a real person who understands your brain, sitting down with you (virtually) to build strategies that are designed around your actual life.
We do not use cookie-cutter approaches. If a planner does not work for you, we will not force one. If traditional to-do lists make things worse, we will find something that does not. The whole point is figuring out what works for your brain, not some generic “neurotypical productivity” system.
I also bring my own lived experience. I have ADHD, and I have been through the late diagnosis, the overwhelm, and the trial and error of finding what actually works. That means when we talk, you are not explaining ADHD to someone who only knows it from a textbook.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about ADHD mentoring for adults.
Is ADHD mentoring suitable for adults?
Yes, absolutely. Most of my clients are adults, ranging from their twenties to their sixties. ADHD mentoring is specifically designed to address the real-world challenges adults face: managing work responsibilities, maintaining relationships, keeping on top of household tasks, and building sustainable routines. Whether you were diagnosed as a child or received a late diagnosis, mentoring provides practical support tailored to adult life.
I was only recently diagnosed with ADHD as an adult. Can mentoring help?
Definitely. A late diagnosis can feel like a whirlwind of emotions: relief, grief, anger, and confusion all at once. Mentoring helps you make sense of your diagnosis and start building practical strategies straight away. Many of my clients come to me shortly after diagnosis feeling overwhelmed, and we work together to turn understanding into action.
What kind of things do adults work on in ADHD mentoring?
The most common areas include time management and organisation at work, building morning and evening routines, managing household tasks and finances, navigating relationships and communication, dealing with overwhelm and burnout, and career planning. Every session is tailored to what you need most right now.
How is this different from the ADHD support my GP offers?
GPs can refer you for diagnosis and manage ADHD medication, but they rarely have the time or specialist knowledge to help with practical daily life strategies. Mentoring fills that gap. It is the ongoing, hands-on support that many adults with ADHD need but struggle to find through NHS services.
How many sessions do most adults need?
This varies hugely. Some people see significant progress in 3 to 5 sessions, while others prefer ongoing support over several months. There is no minimum commitment, so you can book sessions as and when you need them. We discuss what makes sense for you during the free discovery call.
Can I access ADHD mentoring through Access to Work?
Potentially, yes. Access to Work is a government scheme that can fund workplace support for employees with disabilities, including ADHD. If approved, it can cover the cost of mentoring sessions focused on workplace challenges. I can help you understand whether this might be an option for you.
Do I need a formal diagnosis?
No. You do not need a formal ADHD diagnosis to access mentoring. If executive function challenges are affecting your daily life, mentoring can help regardless of where you are in the diagnostic process. Many of my clients are on waiting lists or exploring whether ADHD might explain their experiences.
