ADHD Mentoring That Actually Works
Practical, neurodiversity-affirming ADHD mentoring for adults and university students. Build strategies that work with your brain, not against it, with an experienced ADHD mentor.
What Is ADHD Mentoring?
ADHD mentoring is a practical, skills-based form of support designed to help you manage the day-to-day challenges of living with ADHD. Unlike therapy, which often focuses on emotional processing, or coaching, which can feel quite structured, ADHD mentoring is about working alongside you to build strategies that genuinely fit your life.
As your ADHD mentor, I combine my professional background as a qualified social worker with a deep understanding of how ADHD affects executive function, motivation, and daily routines. We work together on real challenges: keeping on top of tasks, managing time, starting things you keep putting off, and building systems that last longer than a week.
ADHD mentoring is different from therapy and different from coaching. It sits in a practical middle ground: person-centred, strengths-based, and focused on outcomes you can see in your everyday life.
Who Is ADHD Mentoring For?
ADHD mentoring is for anyone experiencing executive function challenges, whether you have a diagnosis or not.
Adults With ADHD
Whether you were diagnosed recently or years ago, ADHD mentoring helps you build practical systems for work, home, and relationships.
University Students
Managing deadlines, coursework, and revision with ADHD is tough. ADHD mentoring gives you the structure and strategies to thrive at university.
Working Professionals
Struggling with time management, meetings, or career progression? ADHD mentoring helps you build workplace strategies that actually work.
Late-Diagnosed Adults
A late ADHD diagnosis can be overwhelming. ADHD mentoring helps you understand your brain and build a life that works with it.
AuDHD and Neurodivergent
If you have ADHD alongside autism or other neurodivergent traits, mentoring is tailored to your unique combination of needs.
Awaiting Diagnosis
You do not need a formal diagnosis to start ADHD mentoring. If you recognise executive function challenges in yourself, that is enough.
What ADHD Mentoring Covers
Every ADHD mentoring session is tailored to your specific challenges. We focus on building practical systems and strategies that work with your ADHD brain, not against it.
Whether you need help with executive function, university life, work challenges, or daily routines, your ADHD mentor will help you find what works.
Meet Your ADHD Mentor
I am Caitlin Hollywood, an ADHD mentor based in Derby with over 7 years of experience as an Advanced Social Work Practitioner. I have worked across five specialist NHS and council settings, including neurological rehabilitation, learning disability and autism, and community teams.
I started ADHD Mentor because I saw first-hand how many people with ADHD were falling through the gaps. Generic advice does not cut it when your brain works differently. My approach is person-centred, strengths-based, and outcome-focused, because those are not just buzzwords to me. They are how I have always worked.
As your ADHD mentor, I will not tell you to “just use a planner” or “try harder.” We will figure out what actually works for your brain, together.

ADHD Mentoring FAQs
Common questions about ADHD mentoring and working with an ADHD mentor.
What is ADHD mentoring?
ADHD mentoring is practical, non-clinical support that helps you develop strategies for managing executive function challenges like organisation, time management, and task initiation. Unlike therapy, an ADHD mentor focuses on building real-world skills and creating systems that work with your brain. Sessions are goal-oriented, personalised, and built around your specific needs.
How is an ADHD mentor different from a therapist or psychiatrist?
An ADHD mentor focuses on practical strategies and skill-building, not diagnosis or medication. Therapy often explores the emotional and psychological aspects of ADHD, while a psychiatrist manages medication. An ADHD mentor bridges the gap by helping you apply strategies to daily life, whether that is managing your calendar, staying on top of deadlines, or building routines that actually stick.
Do I need an ADHD diagnosis to work with an ADHD mentor?
No. You do not need a formal ADHD diagnosis to benefit from ADHD mentoring. If you experience executive function challenges, whether you have a diagnosis, are awaiting assessment, or simply recognise these difficulties in yourself, ADHD mentoring can help.
What happens in an ADHD mentoring session?
Each 60-minute ADHD mentoring session takes place online via Google Meet. We discuss the challenges you are currently facing, identify patterns, and create practical action plans tailored to your needs. Between sessions, you put strategies into practice, and we review what worked and adjust as needed.
How much does ADHD mentoring cost?
Single ADHD mentoring sessions are £125 for 60 minutes. Session bundles are available: 3 sessions for £320 (save 15%) or 5 sessions for £470 (save 25%). A free 15-minute discovery call is included so you can ask questions and see if we are a good fit before committing.
Who is ADHD mentoring for?
ADHD mentoring is for adults and university students who want practical support with executive function challenges. Whether you are struggling with organisation at work, managing university deadlines, or simply trying to build sustainable daily routines, ADHD mentoring provides the structure and accountability many people with ADHD need.
How many ADHD mentoring sessions will I need?
This varies from person to person. Some clients see significant progress in 3 to 5 sessions, while others prefer ongoing ADHD mentoring support. There is no minimum commitment. We discuss what makes sense for you during the free discovery call.
Is ADHD mentoring available online?
Yes. All ADHD mentoring sessions are delivered online via Google Meet, so you can access support from anywhere in the UK or worldwide. Online ADHD mentoring removes barriers like travel time and sensory overwhelm, making it easier to attend consistently.
