ADHD Mentor UK: Practical 1-to-1 Mentoring for Adults and Students
I'm Caitlin, an ADHD mentor with lived experience and a professional background in social work. I help adults and students across the UK build strategies that actually work with their ADHD brains, not against them.
What Is an ADHD Mentor?
An ADHD mentor is someone who helps you navigate the practical, everyday challenges of living with ADHD. It is not therapy, and it is not about sitting around analysing your childhood. We roll up our sleeves and work on the stuff that is actually tripping you up right now: the missed deadlines, the overwhelm, the piles of washing that have been sitting there for three weeks.
What makes mentoring different from other forms of support is the combination of professional knowledge and personal understanding. I'm an Advanced Social Work Practitioner with years of experience supporting people with complex needs, and I also have ADHD myself. So when you tell me you spent two hours reorganising your desk instead of doing the thing you actually needed to do, I get it. I really do.
Mentoring is practical, collaborative, and entirely tailored to you. We build strategies together, test them out, adjust what is not working, and celebrate what is. It is not about fixing you because there is nothing broken. It is about giving you the tools to work with your brain rather than constantly fighting against it.
Why Choose an ADHD Mentor?
Let's be honest: the NHS ADHD pathway in the UK is under enormous pressure. Waiting lists stretch to years in many areas, and even after diagnosis, ongoing support can be thin on the ground. Many people are left with a diagnosis and a prescription but very little guidance on how to actually manage ADHD in daily life.
That is where an ADHD mentor comes in. You do not need to wait for a diagnosis, a referral, or a spot on a waiting list. You can access practical ADHD mentoring right now, whether you are pre-diagnosis, post-diagnosis, or somewhere in between.
And if you are exploring the Right to Choose pathway or navigating NHS waiting lists, having a mentor alongside you during that process can make a real difference.
Who I Help
ADHD mentoring for anyone who needs practical support, wherever you are on your ADHD journey.
Adults with ADHD
Whether you were diagnosed years ago or are just starting to explore ADHD, mentoring helps you build systems for work, home, and relationships.
University Students
Struggling with deadlines, lectures, and independent study? I work with students on academic strategies, and sessions may be funded through DSA.
Working Professionals
From managing meetings to navigating workplace dynamics, mentoring helps you perform at your best without burning out.
Late-Diagnosed Adults
A late diagnosis can be overwhelming. I help you make sense of it, understand your patterns, and start building strategies that actually fit.
AuDHD (ADHD + Autism)
If you are navigating the overlap between ADHD and autism, I offer neurodiversity-affirming mentoring that respects both neurotypes.
Awaiting Diagnosis
You do not need a formal diagnosis to get support. If ADHD traits are affecting your life, we can start working on strategies straight away.
What We Work On Together
Every mentoring session is different because every person with ADHD is different. But here are the areas that come up most often. If something is making your life harder than it needs to be, chances are we can work on it.
Meet Your ADHD Mentor
Hi, I'm Caitlin. I'm an Advanced Social Work Practitioner turned ADHD mentor, and I have ADHD myself. I spent years working in social work, supporting people with complex needs, before realising that the thing I was most passionate about was helping people with ADHD figure out how to make life work for them.
My approach is rooted in genuine understanding. I know what it feels like to lose track of time, to have seventeen tabs open in your brain, and to feel like you are constantly letting people down. But I also know that with the right strategies and support, ADHD does not have to hold you back.
I combine my professional training in social work with my lived experience to offer mentoring that is practical, personal, and completely free of judgement. If you want to know more about how I work, the best thing to do is book a free discovery call and we can have a chat.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about ADHD mentoring in the UK.
What does an ADHD mentor do?
An ADHD mentor provides practical, skills-based support for managing executive function challenges. We work together on things like organisation, time management, task initiation, and building routines that actually work with your brain. It is not therapy and it is not clinical. Think of it as having someone in your corner who genuinely understands ADHD and helps you build strategies for real life.
How much does an ADHD mentor cost in the UK?
My sessions are £125 for a single 60-minute session. Bundles bring the price down: 3 sessions for £320 (save 15%) or 5 sessions for £470 (save 25%), which works out at around £94 per session. You can start with a free 15-minute discovery call to see if we are a good fit before committing to anything.
Do I need a diagnosis to access ADHD mentoring?
No, you do not need a formal diagnosis. Many of my clients are on NHS waiting lists, going through private assessment, or simply recognise ADHD traits in themselves. If executive function challenges are affecting your daily life, mentoring can help regardless of where you are in the diagnostic process.
Is ADHD mentoring available online?
Yes, all my sessions are delivered online via Google Meet. This means you can access support from anywhere in the UK, whether you are in a city or a rural area. Many clients actually prefer online sessions because there is no travel stress, no rushing to get somewhere on time, and you can be in your own comfortable environment.
What is the difference between an ADHD mentor and a therapist?
An ADHD mentor focuses on practical strategy-building and skill development for daily life. A therapist explores the emotional and psychological aspects of ADHD and mental health more broadly. Many people benefit from both, but they serve different purposes. I am not a therapist; I bring professional experience as an Advanced Social Work Practitioner combined with my own lived experience of ADHD.
How do I find an ADHD mentor in the UK?
You have found one! I offer ADHD mentoring to adults and students across the UK via online sessions. The best way to get started is to book a free 15-minute discovery call where we can chat about what you need and whether my approach is right for you. No pressure, no hard sell.
